About us

In 2021, Neil and Lee incorporated 2B Trained Ltd which provides training and consultancy services for temporary works helping training providers with course delivery and assisting construction organizations in developing management processes for the safe execution of the design and build of temporary works.

In 2023, Neil and Lee developed mytemporary.works which provides guidance for construction companies and training providers, template policies, forms, and checklists for safely executing temporary works in accordance with BS 5975-1:2024.  

About this website

NEIL BOORMAN

Neil began his career in the military in 1989 as a Royal Engineer, commonly known as the Sappers, serving for 15 years. He qualified as a mechanical engineer and later moved into civil and infrastructure engineering working in many operational environments worldwide. He acted as the construction and temporary works supervisor on various projects including construction, bridge and road construction, and water and power distribution. In 2000 he joined the Royal School of Military Engineering at Camberley, Surrey as a construction engineering tutor, teaching concreting, bridge construction and excavation support. He became a qualified teacher during that time. 


On leaving the Sappers, Neil became operations manager for a Royal Engineers training team, developing apprenticeship schemes and construction engineering training courses for military engineers. He has also held various construction management roles, for projects in the City of London, and London boroughs, including temporary works advisor, temporary works coordinator, and designated individual for temporary works with Galliford Try, Linden Homes, Drew Smith, Berkeley Homes, Willmott Dixon, and Rydon Construction. 


In 2017, Neil became an approved CITB temporary works tutor delivering training courses throughout the UK. Neil is a member of the Institute of Royal Engineers and Institute of Civil Engineers.

LEE BELCHER

Lee comes from a similar background and in 1987 began his career as a Royal Engineer serving for 25 years. He qualified as a carpenter and joiner and later moved into civil and infrastructure engineering working in many operational environments worldwide, acting as the construction and temporary works supervisor, and construction manager and temporary works coordinator on various projects including construction, bridge and road construction, and water distribution. In 2004 he joined 1 Royal School of Military Engineering at Chatham, Kent as head of construction for carpentry and joinery. In 2006 he joined 3 Royal School of Military Engineering at Camberley, Surrey as a construction training manager.

 

Since leaving the Sappers, Lee has held various construction management roles, including facilities manager for a construction fit-out company, commercial director and construction manager for an outdoor pursuits company, construction site manager and temporary works coordinator for projects in the City of London, and London boroughs, for a Norwich based principal contractor. 


In 2019, Lee became an approved CITB temporary works tutor delivering training courses throughout the UK. Lee is an incorporated engineer and a member of the Institute of Royal Engineers.
