What is the Management Guide?

This publication provides practical advice and guidance for the safe execution of the design and build of temporary works in the construction industry. It is based on BS5975-1:2024 Management procedures for the control of temporary works outlined in topic 2.2 The British Standard. 

It brings together a wide range of legislation and industry guidance related to the design and build of temporary works in construction outlined in topic 2.3 Summary of law and guidance.

It can be used by all involved in managing, or influencing, temporary works in the pre-construction, construction and post-construction phases of a construction project including those described in topic 3.1 Temporary works roles and responsibilities. 

It can assist anyone involved in developing quality management systems for both the design and build of temporary works as recommended in section 2 of BS5975-1:2024 Management procedures for the control of temporary works described in topic 3.3 Temporary works procedures.

This publication can be provided in hardcopy or eBook and is part of the Trainee Pack.
